REMEMBER TO SAVE OFTEN

I made this tutorial with PSP7 but it can be done with 5 or 6 too
Now I could have given you selections to make it easy ...
But you are going to make your own shapes,
so you won't get jaggy edges anywhere....
Note: This makes it a tutorial for more advantaged PSP users
We use the same basic shape throughout the whole tutorial
THE ELLIPSE so we never have to change that..
This is my first tutorial so I might be poor at explaining
I made lots of screenshots though ..:))

1. Open 400x400 transparant background.....add another layer
2. set your Foreground colour to 202020 and your background colour to 404040
set your Background to gradient ...( see image below)

3. Preset shapes set to Ellipse, Antialias and Vector checked, linewidth 1 Draw an ellipse for the body....with the deformation tool move it a little towards the left

Now we are getting a few steps we repeat throughout the whole tutorial

4. Convert layer to raster
5. Select all....select float
6. Effects....Noise....Add 3 uniform
7. Add a new layer
8. Effects...3D cutout (see image below)...Deselect
9. Turn off visibility of background layer and merge visible
rename layer to bodylayer
10. Add a new layer

11. Draw a little ellipse
12. Go to object selector and node edit and give the neck it's shape

13. Repeat steps 4 through 7
14. Effects 3D cutout (see image below)

15. Turn off visibility for background and body layer....
Merge visible and rename it necklayer
16. Set Foreground colour to FFBB99, background colour to FFD5C1
17. Set background to gradient again, same settings
18. Preset shapes set to Ellipse, Antialias and Vector checked,
Linewidth 1... draw an ellipse for the head...
19. Go to Object selector and node edit....we want to give the head it's shape

20. repeat steps 4 through 8 with same settings
21. Turn off visibility of background, body and neck layer and merge visible
Rename layer to head layer
22. Add new layer....name it hair

This is what we should have now ...))

23. Set Foreground to 000000, Background to 202020
24. Close Background, turn Foreground to Background for the hair
25. Draw an ellipse for the hair 25. Object selector node edit...the ones marked nodes are cusp nodes
I love to work with cusp nodes cuz they allow me to go every which way I want..:)

26 Convert to raster layer... We forget about steps 4 through 9 for the hair..:)
